San Diego Volleyball Association (SDVA) is a nonprofit volleyball association serving San Diego County, dedicated to expanding access to the sport through high-quality programs, professional coaching, and a positive, athlete-centered environment.
SDVA was founded with a clear purpose: to ensure that every athlete and family has the opportunity to participate in volleyball, regardless of financial or structural barriers.
We believe access to sport should not be limited by circumstance, and that every athlete deserves the opportunity to pursue the game they are passionate about.

At SDVA, we believe access alone is not enough. We are committed to providing athletes with strong technical foundations from the earliest stages of development. When fundamentals are not properly developed at a young age, it becomes significantly more difficult to correct them later.

We also recognize the lasting impact that coaching environments have on athletes. For many, negative or unstructured experiences have led them to step away from the sport entirely. SDVA was built to set a different standard.

The leadership behind SDVA brings over two decades of experience in operating volleyball programs and organizations. That experience supports the development of structured systems, consistent program delivery, and high standards across all levels.
As part of our commitment to expanding access and strengthening the volleyball community, SDVA has undertaken the licensing and management of the United Volleyball Club brand. Beginning in the 2026 season, the program previously known as United Volleyball Club will operate as United SD under the management of SDVA - a shift from a for-profit model to a nonprofit structure aligned with SDVA's mission.
We believe this transition will have a meaningful and lasting impact on athletes and families in the region.
